Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM now available: " Sigma announces the new Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM large aperture lens designed for digital SLRs, first introduced at the PMA 2010 in February. The compact lens with a length of 91.8mm (3.6'') features an Optical Stabilization function that offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 28cm (11') throughout the entire zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5. The Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 lens is available now for $669..."

Nikon to release updated 200-400mm f/4 in late May: "Nikon will release an updated version of its venerable 200-400mm f/4 VR at the end of next month. The AF-S Nikkor 200-400mm f/4G ED VR II adds four-stop VR II image stabilization, Nano Crystal Coat lens coating for reduced ghosting and flaring and a new A/M position on the lens' mode switch (this option limits accidental switching to manual focus), plus minor cosmetic changes."

Photoshop CS5 Lens Correction to support Sigma: "Sigma has announced its lenses will be compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS5's upgraded Lens Correction feature. The latest version of the image-editing software will automatically fix distortion, chromatic aberration and vignetting for all current Sigma lenses."

Tamron develops SP 70-300mm F4-5.6 Di VC USD lens: "Tamron has announced the development of a 70-300mm f/4-5.6 zoom lens featuring image stabilization and an ultrasonic auto-focus drive. The SP 70-300mm F4-5.6 Di VC USD is the company's first lens to feature its latest Ultrasonic Silent Drive (USD) autofocus motor, with full-time manual focus override. The optical design includes an element made from Extra-Low Dispersion (XLD) glass, said to have optical properties similar to fluorite. Designed for both full-frame and APS-C digital SLRs, the lens will be initially available in Nikon mount followed by Canon and Sony versions."

Nikon annnounces AF-S DX 18-200mm VR II lens: "Nikon has also revealed an update to its popular DX-format superzoom, in the shape of the AF-S DX Nikkor 18-200mm F3.5-5.6G ED VR II. The revised version features a new zoom mechanism to combat 'zoom creep' (one of the most common user complaints about the original lens), along with a zoom lock switch to keep the lens compact when carried. Improved 'Super Integrated Coating' promises to reduce flare and ghosting, while size, weight and optical construction remain unchanged. Sigma announces 10-20mm f3.5 EX DC HSM lens: "PMA 2009: Sigma has announced an ultra-wide angle zoom, the 10-20mm F3.5 EX DC HSM. This new design'squeezes a relatively fast F3.5 constant maximum aperture into a body about 10% larger in each'dimension than the company's popular 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM. The lens has a minimum focus distance'of 24 cm (9.4 inches) throughout the zoom range, and features two Super-Low Dispersion glass'and two Extraordinary-Low Dispersion glass elements for the correction of chromatic aberrations. Sigma releases 50-200mm f4-5.6 DC OS HSM lens: "PMA 2009: Sigma has released an image-stabilized version of its budget telezoom lens, the 50-200mm F4-5.6 DC OS HSM. This' features the same new optical stabilization unit as seen on the 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 EX DC HSM also announced today, which is compatible with Pentax and Sony bodies with in-body anti-shake systems. The new lens also includes a number of user-friendly features rarely seen at this level, including a' hypersonic motor for fast, silent autofocus, and an internal-focusing design with a non-rotating front' element. It will be available in mounts for Sigma, Canon, Nikon, Sony and Pentax DSLRs, and is designed for cameras with APS-C/DX sized sensors only."
