Sigma APO 200-500mm F2.8 EX lens for Nikon: “Sigma introduces the new APO 200-500mm F2.8 EX DG super telezoom lens for Nikon. The lens has already been available for Canon. Though a weapon permit is not required, it could easily become a lethal weapon in the hands of over-anxious paparazzi. Even more impressive is the lens’ specification, it covers the 200 to 500mm range and maintains its fast F2.8 aperture. The length of the lens is 726mm, the diameter is 236.5mm and the weight is 15.7 kg. The lens will be available next week and sells for about $1590. Per kilogram that is…”

Just posted! Pentax 50mm F1.4 lens review: “
Just posted! Our new lens review featuring the Pentax smc P-FA 50mm 1:1.4. This is the latest in our on-going series scrutinising the optical credentials of the camera manufacturers’ various ‘fast fifties’, and looks at a lens which has been around since the days of 35mm film. Designed as a fast ’standard’ prime, it’s now being pressed into service as a short portrait telephoto on the APS-C sensor. So how well has it adapted to this new role?”

The reviewer liked the lens for its image quality which was found satisfactory and its economical price. However the Micro motor that powers the AF was found to be slow and noisy and barrel distortion was also noticed at certain settings.”

Just posted! Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 lens review: “
Just posted! Our new lens review of Sigma’s latest iteration of its popular fast telezoom, the snappily-entitled 70-200mm 1:2.8 EX DG Macro HSM II. Offering fast and silent autofocus to users of all brands of DSLR via its HyperSonic Motor (HSM) autofocus, and with a closest focus distance of just 1m, this certainly looks like a strong contender on paper, but with a parent design dating back to 1999, how does it match up to the current state of the art?”
