Nikon releases SB-900 firmware update ver. 5.02: “Nikon releases firmware update version 5.02 for the SB-900. The following improvements have been made in version 5.02 - With uninterrupted shooting with the SB-900 set to i-TTL mode, images captured just before the flash ceased firing were sometimes overexposed. - When the SB-900, set to TTL auto flash mode, is used with a camera supporting the Creative Lighting System, flash mode automatically changes to A mode according to camera communication status. The Nikon D3 or the D300 can be used to upgrade SB-900 firmware…”

Nikon Camera Control Pro Version 2.4.0

Nikon Camera Control Pro Version 2.4.0: “The new version of the Nikon Camera Control Pro is now available for download. Version 2.4.0 has the following changes:

Support for the D3X has been added.
- Windows 2000 is no longer supported.
- In some rare cases, when images with file sizes of 14 MB or larger were transferred, the transferred images were corrupted.  This issue has been resolved.

Mac users can download the upgrade from here and Windows users need to go here.”

Nikon unveils 24.5MP D3X digital SLR

Nikon unveils 24.5MP D3X digital SLR: “Nikon has announced the D3X, its latest high-resultion professional DSLR. Sporting an imaging sensor with double the number of photosites of the popular D3, the 24.5 megapixel D3x includes similar features such as a 3.0′, 920,000 dot LCD monitor with Live View, 51-point autofocus, EXPEED image processing and HDMI output. To keep up with the demands of stock photography the camera produces 50MB 14-bit RAW files that can be processed to produce 140MB TIFFs. It also supports Nikon’s wireless system and is compatible with Nikon’s new GP-1 GPS unit.”
